US Foods Announces Changes to Board of Directors

US Foods Holding Corp. announced that Timothy R. McLevish has resigned effective immediately from his position on the Board of Directors after it was announced that he will become the Executive Chairman of Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. Because Lamb Weston is a significant supplier to US Foods, McLevish would no longer qualify as an independent director.

John J. Brennan Elected Chairman of FINRA Board of Governors

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Board of Governors unanimously elected John J. “Jack” Brennan, Vanguard Group Chairman Emeritus and Senior Advisor, as FINRA Chairman effective Aug 15, 2016.

Brennan has served as FINRA’s Lead Governor since 2011 and succeeds Richard G. Ketchum as Chairman. His term will be effective upon Ketchum’s previously announced retirement.

Dr. Cheryl Pegus Named to US Acute Care Solutions Board of Directors

US Acute Care Solutions (USACS) today announced Cheryl Pegus MD, MPH, has joined the company’s board of directors.

Pegus has served as the Chief Medical Officer for Walgreens and the Chief Medical Officer for SymCare. Prior to that, she held positions of increasing medical and professional responsibility at Aetna, LipoScience and Pfizer. Dr. Pegus currently serves as the Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovation at New York University School of Medicine.

Vizient, Inc. Announces New Members to its Board of Directors

Vizient, Inc., the largest member-driven health care performance company in the country, announced that its board of directors has appointed three new members.

Ralph W. Muller, chief executive officer of the University of Pennsylvania Health System; C.A. Lance Piccolo, president and chief executive officer of HealthPic; and Carol J. Zierhoffer, senior vice president and global chief information officer for Bechtel Corporation, have been appointed to the Vizient board, effective immediately.

Opus Bank Announces Appointment of Tom Bowers to Its Board of Directors

Opus Bank announced that Tom Bowers, Chief Operating Officer of Starwood Capital Group, has been appointed to the Opus’ Board of Directors, effective June 23, 2016.

He was also appointed a member of the Compensation Committee and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Bowers replaces Marcos Alvarado, formerly Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Starwood Capital Group, who concurrently resigned from Opus’ Board of Directors, effective June 23, 2016. Opus’ board membership remains at nine.
