Winning during uncertainty. “Uncertainty is the operating environment now, and risk cuts across every part of a private company at speed and scale. Boards can’t rely on old habits or linear assumptions. Challenges move too quickly and across too many domains — technology, workforce, reputation, security. Effective governance doesn’t require certainty. It requires discipline, technical fluency, early questions and steady collaboration with management before pressure becomes exposure. The work is demanding, but it is not complicated: see clearly, act decisively and stay calm inside complexity. With the right governance, companies don’t just survive this environment. They gain the clarity and resolve to win in it.”
