MassMutual appoints Bernard A. Harris Jr.
Joining the board of MassMutual, Bernard A. Harris Jr.is a veteran astronaut who is currently CEO and managing partner of venture capital firm Versalius Ventures Inc. Harris, a NASA astronaut, has logged more than 400 hours and traveled over 7 million miles in space. He was a mission specialist on the space shuttle Columbia in 1993 and a payload commander on the space shuttle Discovery in 1995. In 1998, he founded The Harris Foundation, a Houston, Texas-based nonprofit organization whose mission is "to invest in communty-based initiatives to support education, health and wealth."
Harris is a member of the boards of Raytheon Technologies, U.S. Physical Therapy and Monebo Technologies. He also serves on the board of the Texas Medical Center and is CEO of the National Math and Science Initiative.
