Edward Norton is one of the most celebrated actors of his generation. He’s starred in over 50 films, produced 13, written 5 and directed 2. Edward Norton has received various accolades, including a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award, as well as nominations for four Academy Awards, two BAFTA Awards and two Emmy Awards.
Norton has a substantial parallel career as a serial entrepreneur, investor and activist in both environmental sustainability and technology ventures. He is the founder of CrowdRise, EDO, Zeck and Stax Engineering.
In 2010, Norton co-founded CrowdRise, a charitable crowdfunding platform that quickly grew into the largest platform to raise money for U.S. nonprofits. In 2017, CrowdRise merged with GoFundMe to create the largest online giving platform in the world. Norton serves on the board of GoFundMe, which now processes nearly $5 billion of contributions annually and is routinely cited as the most important social impact company in the world.
In 2020, Norton co-founded Zeck along with his CrowdRise co-founders, Robert and Jeffrey Wolfe. Norton is the head of strategy for Zeck and plays an active daily role. Zeck is reimagining the entire board meeting process, impacting thousands of companies and nonprofits. In April 2024, Salesforce Ventures led a strategic investment in Zeck along with Khosla Ventures and Breyer Capital.

Bill Hayes

Bill Hayes is the managing editor of Directors & Boards and Private Company Director magazines. He served for almost 18 years as the managing editor for the Pennsylvania CPA Journal, the official publication of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In his position, he not only worked as the driving force behind the magazine, but also held important roles in several other communications vehicles. He hosted PICPA’s official podcast, CPA Conversations; led the organization’s blog, CPA Now; and played pivotal creative and strategic roles in the areas of video, e-newsletters and social media. Bill has written and edited professionally for 23 years after his graduation from Rowan University, from which he earned a Communications degree with a Radio/TV/Film concentration.
He lives in Eagleville, Pa., with his wife, Estera, and three sons. When not working, his favorite pursuits are watching his kids play sports, listening to music and building his ever-growing film collection, which includes several films starring Edward Norton.
