Ash Carter
Carter is the director of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He serves as the Belfer professor of technology and global affairs. He served as the 25th United States secretary of defense from 2015 to 2017 and previously worked directly and indirectly under 11 secretaries of defense in both Democratic and Republican administrations. He has held teaching and leadership roles at Harvard University, Stanford University and MIT. He currently serves on the boards of Delta Air Lines, GE and The MIT Corporation.
