Capitol Hill Visits at Private Company Governance Summit

As part of the recent Private Company Governance Summit in Washington, D.C., attendees had an opportunity to meet with congressional representatives or their staff to discuss matters of interest to family businesses. The Capitol visits were led by Pat Soldano, president of Family Enterprise USA, an organization that advocates for family business owners. One goal of the visits was to advance a proposal to create a Family Business Caucus, which would educate members of Congress on the contributions of family businesses, support a more business-friendly regulation and taxation landscape, and connect members of Congress with family businesses in their districts or home states to create dialogue and a productive exchange of ideas.

Attendees met with staff of Rep. Peter Meijer (R-Mich.) to discuss establishing of a Family Business Caucus.
